Some of Asia's richest were also on the list, such as China's Wang Jianlin (No. 59) and India's Mukesh Ambani (No. 38).
Not surprisingly, China is the Asian country with the most number of people on the list, with 7 listees. Besides Xi Jinping, other Chinese nationals include: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang (No. 12), Alibaba’s Jack Ma (No. 28), China Investment Corp chairman Ding Xuedong (No. 41), Tencent’s Ma Huateng (No. 45), Dalian Wanda Group chairman Wang Jianlin (No. 59), and Baidu’s Robin Li (No. 60).

Some other notable rankings include Bank of Japan governor Haruhiko Kuroda (No. 47), who ranked just above outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama.
India, the world’s second most populous country, only had two people on the list: Narendra Modi (No. 9) and Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani (No. 38).
Despite all his tough talk, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was ranked well near the bottom of the list at No. 70, just below U.S. Vice President-elect Mike Pence.
Other notable people from Asia-Pacific are Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch (No. 35), Japanese Prime Minster Shinzo Abe (No. 37), Samsung’s Lee Jay-yong (No. 40), North Korean authoritarian leader Kim Jong-un (No. 43), and SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son (No. 53).
